{{emailAddress}}Holidays in Pattaya are legendary and this vibrant resort is Thailand's second biggest tourist attraction after the capital city itself, Bangkok. Located on Thailand's east coast (130km southeast of Bangkok) on the Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya is hugely popular both with foreign travellers and native Thai holidaymakers. A low cost of living, a favourable climate and exotic lifestyle all combine to draw visitors and Pattaya remains Thailand's holiday jewel.
Pattaya Beach is already well known to Irish visitors as the resort simply thrums with life virtually 24 hours a day. An amazing array of restaurants, lively bars, fun pubs, music venues, cabaret shows and chic cafes line the beach front and nightlife options are absolutely unimaginable! You will doubtless get to experience a different way of life on a holiday in Pattaya. Aptly named Walking Street comes alive at night with mime artists, stall holders, hawkers and vendors.
Of course, Pattaya holidays are incomplete without a visit to a local market and the best is found at Thepprasit Road. Shop for "designer" clothes, bags, t-shirts and jewellery and you can even sample some delicious fried scorpions!
Daytime activities in Pattaya centre around the beach where parasailing, jetskiing and boating are popular pastimes. The climate is tropical with a fairly distinct wet and dry season; however, even in the rainy season downpours are often gone as soon as they arrive. The broad sweep of bay is backed by the high-rise skyline of Pattaya city, so there are plenty of shopping options away from the beach.
Holidays in Pattaya offer other brilliant attractions including Pattaya Crocodile Farm, Funny Land Amusement Park, Underwater World Pattaya (a world class aquarium) and cultural diversions with mesmeric traditional dance shows. Visit the wonderful Wat Khao Phra Bat temple to see the awesome Buddha standing more than 18m high.
